Announcements in the DOOR family:

• We wish all the best to Christie in our Denver office as she leaves us to further her career at Regis University. 
• With great joy we congratulate Eduardo and Tiffany upon their marriage in San Antonio last weekend!
• We extend our prayers to little Gabriel as his arm heals from the 2 breaks and his dear parents as they endure his prescribed bed rest.

We are still accepting
registrations for summer 09. 

Many groups are rescheduling their international trips.  LA, Miami & San Antonio are excellent options for a comparable international experience. We are working with several groups in their transition.  Please call as soon as possible.

Get your group registrations submitted for participation this summer.  If you have questions about availability for a particular week or a specific city, contact us door@doornetwork.org or 303-295-3667 in our National Office. We keep a national calendar and we can answer most of your questions. However, your spots are not reserved until we receive your registration form and your first deposit.

Groups looking to participate in 2010 will receive the current rate if registration is complete by Oct. 1, 2009.

Announcements for Summer Groups

1.  DOOR cities do not usually take weekend groups in the summer months due to the capacities of our summer programs.  There are a few exceptions to this.  If you're interested in a weekend this summer or anytime in the fall, please call 303-295-3667 for availability. 
2. As you make your preparations for the summer, consider gathering items you may have locally that can be used in the city.  In all our cities, you can bring canned food, children's books, and bring string style back packs.

Overview

DOOR is a faith-based network of six cities that provides opportunities for service, learning and leadership development within the urban context.  We highlight the strengths of our cities; believing this is best accomplished through collaboration, mutuality and partnership.  We host volunteers from a weekend to a year and include opportunities for individuals and groups.

Mission Statement

Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection (DOOR) is a faith based network of urban service-learning programs that expose, educate, challenge, and motivate participants to respond to the issues and concerns facing an increasingly urban world.  Program offerings range from a weekend to a year and include opportunities for individuals and groups.

DOOR invites our Discover, Discern and Dwell participants to See the face of God in the city.

By experiencing God’s love and shalom in ever-expanding new ways we can share and demonstrate God’s alternatives to the evils of racism, poverty and violence that tear down our communities and lives.
