Discover (short term)   >   Cancellation Policy

In the event that your group needs to cancel, DOOR has the following policy:

• If you cancel after your initial $75 per person deposit, the funds may be applied in its entirety to a future trip this year or next year.
• If you cancel after your second payment of $100 per person, your initial deposit amount can be applied to a future trip as stated above.  Your second payment is non-refundable, as stated in your confirmation letter and orientation packet.
• If you are canceling after you have paid in full, your final balance is also non-refundable due to the proximity between the time you canceled and the scheduled trip.  Your initial deposit may be applied as stated above.

DOOR is self-funded through participant fees. Participant fees cover your meals, speaker stipends, scheduling and city director’s salaries. When we schedule your group, we make arrangements with local organizations where you will volunteer. They are counting on you to come.  When a group cancels, it affects many agencies with which we work, we had to turn other groups away, and disrupts all aspects of scheduling.  We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting your group in the future.
