The We collectively Teaching Collective is a group of women from diverse backgrounds and experiences who have come together to teach on relevant contemporary topics.
Women, specifically women of color, have been leading systemic and organized change for decades, even centuries — many without any recognition or credit for their work. To lift up the voices of women of color, We Collectively has invited leaders from diverse backgrounds and experiences to come together to collaborate and to offer their expertise via webinars, teach-ins and workshops.
We invite you to join us as we learn together, create community connections, and engage urgent issues facing our society today.
REV. LINDSEY ANDERSON
Rev. Lindsey Anderson serves as Co-Pastor of Love Rising Lutheran Church, a proud Black ELCA congregation in the city of Detroit, sharing a call to justice and radical love. She has worked with this faith community for seven years, exploring creativity, liberation, community action and faith.
Lindsey grew up in Southeast Michigan, she is a mixed-race cis woman of color, proud member of the black community and descendant of German and Irish immigrants. In her spare time she works with a team of anti-racist educators, is consistently expanding her womanist ethic of self and community care, enjoys the spiritual practice of evening walks, and stays believing the resurrection promise for her many houseplants.
She lives in Southwest Detroit among an awesome community of neighbors and friends.
Micah Rose Emerson
A Kansas City native, Micah Rose spends her time networking with community members so that families can be connected and thrive. She is also a writer/director of stage plays and short films. Her first film, Flower, has earned several awards.
Micah Rose enjoys being on the Friends of Art board of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kansas City COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund Advisory board, and dreaming of ways to create art and hosting conversations around our ideas about race.
She has 2 children in her life who make her life brighter and busier.
Amy Kim Kyremes-Parks
Amy Kim Kyremes-Parks is the Director of Spiritual Formation at Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Amy Kim loves creating space for folks to interact with the Holy and one another through art and opportunities for disruption.
Her life is shared with her amazing spouse, Justin, children, Natalily & Isaiah, Obed the poodle and 9 Chickens!.
Andrea Sawyer-Kirksey
Andrea has over 30 years of experience as an educator, justice advocate, and program development professional. She is an avid storyteller and sought-after speaker on the topics of anti-racism, cultural humility, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work centers on developing people-of-color centered programming that produces passionate, empathetic community leaders. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection (DOOR).
In 2018, Crain’s Chicago Business named her to their list of notable LGBTQ executives in Chicago. In 2020, she was selected to participate with the Chicago Foundation for Women in their Willie’s Warriors program, a leadership initiative for women of color. Andrea also serves on the Board of More Light Presbyterians, an LGBTQIA+ advocacy group. Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, Andrea and her wife, Nanette, now live in Rogers Park.
